The face of the innocently condemned

It's very sad when happened... actually sad isn't a descriptive enough word to describe it. It's amazing to know that those who survived and are still alive (Dutch Holocaust survivor Jack Polak died a few weeks ago, he was 102) are elderly now but they were kids and teenagers when these things were happening to them. If you think about it, it wasn't really long ago at all. I know kids grow up fast, especially with how Western culture is in this decade, but in their case it was the war that did it and if there's one good thing that came out of that it's that it made them wise beyond their years and now that they're all grown up they can use that to help people understand and try to stop future generations from having to go through what they did. They need us and we need them. They leave it to us to keep the message going. I'm writing to Anne Frank in my diary and I told her that I'm sorry about what happened to her and the others.
